Winter Seed Sowing Workshop

Do you need plants for your garden or for a plant sale? Need to sow seeds? Need a way to sow seeds that doesn’t turn your dining room/ living room/ laundry room into a messy conglomeration of soil, lights and water stains? Need a way to start seeds without you kitty eating your sprouts or using the flat as a litter box? If you answered yes to any of these questions then Winter Sowing is the method for you! Please join us on Super Sow Sunday to get a jump start to your seed growing!
A short instructional lecture will be followed by hands on instruction on how to make winter sowing containers. Potting soil provided and some native flower seed will be available to share. This class is open to the public and will count as Advanced master gardener education so bring a friend!
Materials List: please arrive 15 minutes ahead to get checked in and settled. This is a hands on workshop that requires you to bring a few items to participate.
- Bring 1 or 2 one gallon milk/ water jugs cleaned and dried.
- Roll of duct tape.
- Utility knife
- Seeds (we will have some to share)
All other materials including potting soil will be provided.

“New Roses For Today’s Garden” with Teresa Byington

Teresa Byington is a rose expert who will put you in the mood for those Valentine roses—and feed your interest for roses in your garden.
Teresa will explain how the Knock Out Rose, released in 2000, changed the world of roses forever. She tests many of the new varieties in her large cottage garden of about 200 roses, and will share her experiences and recommendations.
